Food was fantastic! Got chicken biriyani, gulab jamun, cheese naan, and veggie curry and it was all a bop. Went after gym in a whim, would recommend

I stopped by Red Apple - Pakistani Indian Cuisine for the first time, thinking it was a sit-down restaurant based on the name and signage. It's actually more of a takeout spot located inside a gas station plaza, right between a fast-food joint and a market. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. We ordered: Goat Karahi (medium spice) Chicken Korma Butter Chicken Chicken Biryani Jalapeño Naan & Butter Naan The goat dish was the standout winner. They asked for our spice preference, and medium was perfect. It took about 30–40 minutes, which made sense since they were preparing it fresh. The flavor was incredible—tender, well-spiced, and rich. I highly recommend getting a goat dish if you stop by. The chicken dishes were good, though I personally would’ve loved an option for bone-in chicken to keep that full depth of flavor. Still, the sauces were creamy and satisfying. The naan was fresh and flavorful, especially the jalapeño one which added a nice kick. I do wish they had Desi chai on the menu—that would’ve been the perfect way to round off the meal. One more shoutout: the gentleman at the front was super friendly and provided great customer service. So if you're passing through or nearby, don’t let the location fool you—this place is worth a try. Skip the expectations of fine dining and dive straight into the food. Just be ready to wait a bit if you're ordering goat, but it’ll be well worth it.

I visited Indi-Pak cuisine and ordered the biryani along with chicken tandoori. The biryani was rich in aroma, with perfectly cooked rice and just the right balance of spices. The chicken tandoori stood out with its smoky flavor, tender texture, and mouthwatering seasoning. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys authentic Indian and Pakistani dishes.

The Best Goat Biryani Rice EVER! If you’re a biryani lover, this goat biryani is on a completely different level. The moment the plate comes out, you can smell all those rich spices—cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, everything perfectly balanced. The rice is fluffy, not oily, and every grain has flavor. But the real star is the goat meat—soft, juicy, and literally falling off the bone. No dryness, no toughness, just melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The masala is rich but not overpowering, and it blends into the rice instead of sitting heavy on top. Every bite has spice, flavor, and that deep, smoky biryani taste you only get when it’s cooked slow. They didn’t cheap out on meat either—you get big pieces, and they’re cooked perfectly. Pair it with the raita and a little pepper sauce and boom... perfection on a plate. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful, real goat biryani, this is the one. I’d happily drive back just for another plate! Tender goat Flavor in every bite Perfect spice level Worth every dollar Highly recommended!

Their Channa dal and garlic naan is a must must must try. One of the best Channa dal that I have had in the US . Chicken tikka masala and goat biryani also hit the spot. We arrived at 10:30 PM and the owner went out of his way to serve and make food for us . Amazing staff and great food . Must try in the region !!!

I’ve been coming here many times, and the food is consistently amazing. Whether I dine in or order to go, the quality never disappoints. The lamb curry is rich and flavorful, the chicken tandoori is perfectly cooked, and today I tried the palak paneer rice — absolutely incredible! The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious, authentic food!

Red Apple - Pakistani Indian Cuisine, located at 1309 Altamont Ave in Schenectady, NY, is a hidden gem that offers a rich and authentic taste of South Asian flavors. Though tucked inside a gas station plaza, its unassuming location belies the vibrant, bold dishes that await. Drawing from the culinary traditions of both Pakistan and India, Red Apple delivers an impressive menu crafted with fresh ingredients and a passion for genuine flavors.

The standout star here is undoubtedly the goat biryani, praised by many for its aromatic spices and tender, juicy meat that effortlessly falls off the bone. The perfect balance of cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon infuses the fluffy rice, creating a dish that is both rich and nuanced without being heavy. It’s a definitive must-try for any biryani enthusiast looking for that slow-cooked, smoky depth.

Equally impressive are the goat karahi and butter chicken. The karahi, prepared freshly to your desired spice level, is tender and deeply flavored—a dish that truly showcases skilled South Asian cooking. The chicken selections feature creamy, satisfying sauces, though some may prefer bone-in cuts for an even more authentic mouthfeel. The naan, especially the jalapeño and garlic variants, adds a perfect texture and a subtle spice kick that complements the main courses beautifully.

What sets Red Apple apart is not just its food but also the attentive service and humble atmosphere. While it’s more takeout-oriented than fine dining, the care put into each dish and the friendly staff create an inviting experience. Whether you’re stopping by after a workout or craving a comforting meal, Red Apple’s offerings—like the chicken biryani, channa dal, and smoky chicken tandoori—deliver flavors that linger long after the last bite.

In sum, Red Apple excels in crafting authentic Pakistani and Indian cuisine that honors traditional recipes while embracing the casual, approachable charm. For lovers of rich spices, tender meats, and expertly balanced dishes, this is a destination well worth exploring. Just be patient with the goat dishes—they’re slow-cooked lovingly and are always worth the wait.
